Okay, so this was news to me. Now, I thought I understood what footwork was...something primarily for Linemen (so they could maintain their footing while pushing the other guy) or ball carries (to maintain balance while dodging/stiff-arming a defender). But I'm at a lose as to see why gunners need this skill?
And if gunners need footwork, then why wouldn't all defender need it? So why is it an offensive skill?
Confused...
...and we haven't even gotten to my questions about my relationships with women.

Isn't this the problem with all skills? That the developers haven't given any description of why they have chosen to call Footwork for Footwork or Vision for Vision etc.
A lot of the statements from the developers about skills simply doesn't make sense when comparing to real football and how the word is understand in that context.
It would be really nice with a small explanation of each skill, so we had something to base our decisions on.
As for the whole Footwork for Gunners. My Gunners are training Footwork now, since it have been stated they need it, but I have given up trying to understand why.
PS. I don't want to know what positions need what skills! That should be my decision based on the skill descriptions.

next thing you know, they come out with a list that says
vision: helps you see
positioning: helps you position
footwork: helps you move your feet
agility: makes you more agile

I understand what you guys are saying and Iman, that was actually pretty funny.............but if you guys really want skill descriptions, but not to know what positions need the skill............then just look the words up. I'm pretty sure you guys aren't asking for definitions, because, let's face it, most all of us should know what each one of those words mean. If not, look it up.
My problem with all this is that some of you DON'T want definitions, you want the developers definitions and the only reason for that is to get some hints as to what skills are needed for what position (i.e. footwork for gunners???). Otherwise, you would just look the words up and know what each one means.
Personally, I'm completely against the posting of anything that may lead to common knowledge of all or most players as to how to build their players to be most competitive. It's up to each manager to familiarize themselves with these things, test these things and determine the best way. This could take many seasons to accomplish, perhaps some will never accomplish this and maybe, there is so much randomness in the game, maybe you couldn't figure it out with a complete team of analysts pouring over every bit of game tape you have.
I prefer it to be completely unknown, as crazy as that sounds, but the alternative is to dilute the game with managers who don't have to use their imagination and teams that are all trained identical.

Nah...games are better with a little secrecy.
What *I* have a problem with is MISinformation from the devs. They've told us stuff is true when it isn't...so now it's hard to trust anything they tell us.
