Hrm... well I don't know about the raiders or the lions. The raiders can't seem to win a football game no matter how lucky they are. The lions simply cannot win a football game.

Oakland has improved their defense big-time over the last few years. It's the offense that kills them. Once they get a quality QB and a reliable receiving core, they'll be fine. Their line is good as are their RBs. But, Jamarcus Russell is NOT the answer. They need a veteran at the helm to pull in WRs that otherwise wouldn't be available. Someone like Kerry Collins in Tennessee who has come out of nowhwere to be good again. There are always star veterans available. Kurt Warner went unsigned for 5 years during his career and now he's leading the league in passing yards and TDs in Arizona. Rookie QBs take years to develop. Veteran QBs already know what they are doing.

Now for the lions. I will agree that Roy Williams was dead weight. I will not agree however, that the lions will be good in the future. I was at the lions vs jags game this Sunday and I must say it was the saddest sight I've ever seen. The lions looked like a high school team and I'll bet than any college team could beat them. Culpepper is just as much a useless pile of crap as before (raiders fans can be thankful he's not in oakland anymore). He started, threw an interception on a horrible first pass, then when he got back in late in the game, he knocked Kevin Smith over trying to hand off the ball.

The defense had blown coverage every other play but the jags didn't need to pass. They ran all day with everybody. The lions blow. Their few fans are so upset that they threw out the free posters everyone was given when leaving the stadium. The attendance has dropped off completely and Michigan's economy is in shambles. Look for the lions to change homes sometime in the next decade.

On the bright side, Barry Sanders was at the game!

I wasn't saying they'll be good. I was merely saying they "may" be turning it around. The economic analysis is valid though. Detroit is dying the lions are not a quality team and fans have supported them despite that for too long. It's too bad because Ford Field is awesome.

All I can say about the Lions is IF the Fords ever sell the team and they get a GM who actually knows how to build a team, they can turn it around. It'll take a lot of work, but it's not impossible.

Yea nothing imposable ...but i dont see the Lions winning a SB in my life time weather they sell the team or not but if the lions trade all there players for the raiders players then that would make the raiders hand down the most screwed up team in major US sports

First off, the Raiders are terrible. Being a Louisville fan, I hope they trade Michael Bush in the off-season so he can get off that wretched team. He's way better than Fargas (bigger, just as fast, better hands, and better blocker) and gets no playing time. Stupid. Kiffin actually had brain enough to realize they couldn't pass the ball with a young QB and horrible receivers and gets fired for it. Al Davis should have the team taken away from him by the league, as he will never die because I'm 90% sure he's a vampire.

The Lions are solid at receiver and running back, but nowhere else. They need a QB, offensive lineman, and defensive players everywhere. If they're smart, they'll use all those picks coming their way from Dallas on offensive line and defense. Then, look at Culpepper or Stanton to get them through next season before going after a QB. It's not going to be a quick turnaround, and I think other needs are more pressing than a signal caller. It doesn't help matters that they play in a tough division where they face Green Bay, Minnesota, and Chicago twice a year.
