Youth pull strategy

Hi guys, just wanted to know what your strategy on your youth pull is. I always took the younger player because I can use him longer. But most of them did not looked good. Last week I took the older one (just because his name was funny) and became a good, solide player. This week I took the younger again, and he is rubbish. So i might try out picking the older player. What are your experiences?

Since you just started, pick your player on wednesday, saves you a weeks salary

Great advice for new teams, every dollar counts early on As for the age of youth pulls, since talent, speed hidden cap and strength hidden cap are all entirely random, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. When you are just starting out, you only have age to go by and so I would suggest taking the younger player. When you develop your team to the point of being able to afford a Youth Academy (fully upgraded), then you will be able to see the starting speed, strength, agility and stamina of 4 potential players. In this case, I like to pick the one with the highest net total of speed and strength, as these are the only skills with "hidden" caps. I take that total over the age listed in most cases

There is a time when you might want to pick up your youth player before your games. When I started out, I was adding and cutting players frequently, so I wanted to get my new young players involved in games as quickly as possible to start building their experience. Plus, in some cases I was able to fire an older, more expensive three star player and instead play the newer, cheaper, younger player.

To answer the actual question...yes, just pick the youngest player. I have the upgrades to see Speed, Strength, and Agility so sometimes I'll take a 17 year old over a 16 year old if there's a huge gap in skills (to the point where I wouldn't be able to train them that high over a season's time).

But you shouldn't have those upgrades for a long time, so just take the youngest one (or in the case of a tie, take the one with the best name) and hope for the best.

More often than not the younger player will have lower starting skills because you can train him longer

you might forget if you pick it on wednesday. you will lose out on a player. the new player will cost a max of like 1.9k in salary. not much loss

Thats what I thought, too. I had some 32 year old players, who earn over 3.000. Due to the fact that they wont play for me for long, I try to get rid of them as early as possible. I prefer even younger players with low talent. They dont cost as much and they will be longer on my team, so I can develop them. But the idea is great if I have no "Favre`s" on my team anymore, thanks
