kind of like Ebay there stoo (nice idea has worked for them)

I do think the current tax system works pretty well you would have multiple problems though what about the guys going bankrupt this idea would make is harder to bail out.

while the idea of an upfront tax is cool (would put our used car sales man out of business) the transfer market is what it is and works fairly well you will always find someone doing stupid things

grandpa always said you cant fix stupid!

Personally, I like the idea, but I see your point about making it difficult for players facing the big B. Would make it hard on them. Also it would have prevented folks from putting up players for too much, as they wouldn't have the cash on hand to front the 10% and it would have kicked it back.

Perhaps a happy medium would just be a max starting bid........no player can be listed (initially) for more than say, $1,000,000 (just an example)........then the market determines the true value as it should be

an option might be to say if team has a negative balance they can list player for 1k but if you have cash you cant list for more than the % you would need on hand

might get the best of both worlds and lets face it if you list a player that is worth 1mil the market will certainly bring him there

then you might have to give a person a chance to post more than one ad if they wish to help them market a player of that value lets face it the ad board runs into 2 pages max so if you let someone post one ad ever 24hrs but they stay posted for 48hrs

sorry kind of rambling LOL

I still believe that the best idea to just force the team to cut the player it does not need
