Yeah, they are important, just shouldn't be your primary focus. Put someone with good consistency back there and train up all the skills you think are important for kicking evenly. Field position is important and so are FG's against humans. Personally, I probably won't take any skills over 12 for my kicker. My current kicker is 7 and he does just fine for me. He hits 35 yard FG's and avg kicking is between 57 and 61 yards.

i have a kicker with more than double that skill and he only averages 65 and he still misses 43 yarders

Yep, kinda insane, sorry for the extra salary you have to carry. I have a friend that picked up a kicker with double by skills and he gets about the same, 5-7 more yards on the kicks and still misses some. Maybe I'll stop at 10 for the skills

So perhaps there are "diminishing returns" in this game after all.. I.e. there is more of an improvement from 9 to 10 speed than there is from 19 to 20.

Well, since physicals don't effect the salary, I'll just keep training those right up to 20, or as close as I can get. My kickers/punters will stay below 10........or maybe strength does matter........he is 20 strength/20 con

The Admin have stated that only the kicking skills currently have influence on the kicking situations in the game. We can only hope that it will change in the future.

I only used speed as an example. Perhaps its the same for strength and intelligence and tackling and catching etc..

I was only joking about the strength matters (hope it does at some point), but the part about not taking my kickers/punters past 10 in any of the main skills, I was serious 100%. I don't see the benefit

Opinion: The fg range seems to increase at .5-1 per skill point

This should definitely be fixed then. A 20 skill kicker should be able to hit a 60 yarder, a 2 skill kicker should be able to hit about a 10 yarder. Which would equate to about a 2.77 yard increase per skill point.
