The FAQ states that over-30s receive no training points (and begin to lose physical skills). Does this just apply to the 10 +/- 2 or to all training? i.e. do they still get points from coaches, facilities and higher intensity training?

They don't get any points!
Slowly they will lose skill points until the level of 12.
So a 18 speed WR will slowly drop to 12 speed and so on for the other skills.

Ok thanks.
That seems a bit harsh though. I can understand them not getting the customary 10 per week but you would think they'd derive some benefit from coaching/facility upgrades - even if it only slowed their decline

Well, they are loosing the skills, sure. But slowly, like 1-3 points in a season. So a 20 skill needs like 4 seasons minimum until 12 and most of the players will retire anyway at that age.
But they still can increase BPOS and exp.
And 12 ist still a pretty good level.
