Check the FAQ....you will not receive a huge amount of training points by adding 1 level to each coach. Much more you should try to add 1 trainer to max, then the next, based on your financial situation.

Not yet, the two best to start with would be Defense and Fitness, but Fitness first, its not worth going from 1 to 2, keep your money and wait till you can afford maybe a 10 coach
A fitness coach will not affect your wages during the off season, where if you train anything else the wages could increase

Coaches play a big rol in training. But you need to increase them in larger amounts. 10 or 20 at a time.
To give you an idea of how coaching affects your player's training.
8 to 12 points to start(10 plus or minus 2 that each player automatically gets each week.)
1 to 10 points for teamwork bonus (teamwork divided by 2 rounded up.)
-4 to 6 points for training intensity. The harder you train, the more points, but also higher loss of energy).
Coaching skill is added to this total, So if you have coaches 1 (which everyone starts out with) you will add 1 point to each player's total. If you've upgraded coaches, the appropriate coaches score is added. (fitness 10, then 10 is added to those who train in fitnees).
So with this, an average player will get about 16 training points without training hall or fitness center. (10 to start avg., 5 from teamwork assuming average 10 teamwork, 1 from beginning coaches).
If training in fitness or defending (the most common areas for early training) then 8 points will go to one skill, 6 to a second skill, and 2 to the last skill. If you focus train, then 12 points go to the focused skill, 2 points to second skill, 1 point to last skill, and 1 point lost.
A player needs 100 training points to increase a skill 1 point.
From this you can see that adding 1 to your coaching, taking it to 2 will not make a noticeable difference (if any at all) to the points the players get. So, it is best to add in blocks at a time. Preferably, take at least 1 coach to 20 each time you make a change.
Please note, I did not factor in training hall or fitness center. The question was about coaches and I didn't want to confuse the issue by adding those in as well. However, both training hall and fitness center will increase the amount of points a player gets each week as well.
