Overall Game Question...

So, I am trying this game out to see if it is something i would like to spend time playing, but there are a few problems that I have recognized from reading the forums, playing a game, etc.

1. Older members argue that there isn't enough of a tactical element in the game
2. The game seems to be focused on player development and moving up through the divisions
3. You can apparently only select one possible formation for each side of the ball through an entire game, regardless of down and distance
4. The supporter account seems a little expensive for the benefits it offers
5. You can't really tell the sim engine to highlight a specific player for passes or runs

and here are a few good things I have noticed

1. Lots of opportunities for playing a game (match)
2. The movement through the divisions seems fun, at least until you reach the upper ranges, at which point advancement might not occur again
3. The slow pace of development might be able to prolong interest until one has a quality team
4. The community seems chatty, helpful, and friendly

so, is that a pretty accurate appraisal?
what do you veterans think?

yes, once you get into the game the restrictions on how to play the game effectively are a little frustrating. It's all about a passing attack.
2. The game seems to be focused on player development and moving up through the divisions
in fairness this is going to be the case for all management games and is a feature/ style that i like (personally)
3. You can apparently only select one possible formation for each side of the ball through an entire game, regardless of down and distance
yup
4. The supporter account seems a little expensive for the benefits it offers
ignoring all the fluff, training reports and access to skill details and caps is very useful
5. You can't really tell the sim engine to highlight a specific player for passes or runs
you can indiectly, play one receiver / RB on a particular side and select preference for that side in match orders

and here are a few good things I have noticed

yep, at least two matches a week, plus potential for several more in cup and aflc (in a few seasons)
2. The movement through the divisions seems fun, at least until you reach the upper ranges, at which point advancement might not occur again
seeking promotion is the aim of the game, it stays fun at the top trying to hold onto the top spots and pushing to go for the iron bowl
3. The slow pace of development might be able to prolong interest until one has a quality team
hmm..
4. The community seems chatty, helpful, and friendly
best part of the game by a long way, the active and fun community i think i prob responsible for keeping about 30% of the veteran players

so, is that a pretty accurate appraisal?
what do you veterans think?

He was the one who said that he hadn't made any major tactical changes in a very long time... Either his team is just that awesome or there's a big part of the game missing...

yes but if your the top banana then its up to others to change tactics to beat said tactics. If Stoo's tactics hadnt been working im sure he would have changed them.

Let's not forget that it isn't until now that it actually mattered when you joined the game.
