Any advice I've got too many players really in the DL and LB postions but like all of them, so should I keep them for now until I'm sure of who I want taking in mind the cost of the players?

What would you do or focus on in the aspect of keeping them, I have thought about the using the rookie guide but still can't decide

I run a very strict roster, even if it doesn't look like it. I know exactly what I can afford to pay my starters, my backups and how many youth prospects I can have on the roster. I can only advice to do the same, so that a manager doesn't run into financial problems.

As to your situations I personally value the different positions a bit different.

Defensive Ends:

Talent 3.5+, Strength and Speed need to be 16+, Tackling as main skill followed by Agility as secondary skill.

Defensive Tackles:

Talent 3.5+, Strength need to be 16+, Tackling as main skill followed by Footwork as secondary skill.

Personally I run a 4-3 defensive scheme, so I try to have 3 of each position, the third might be the youth prospect.

Do you mean 3 backups or 3 sets of 4-3?

3 DEs = 2 starters and 1 backup/youth
3 DTs = 2 starters and 1 backup/youth

To go into even more detail then:

4 to 5 LBs = 2 OLBs starters, 1 MLB starter, 1 MLB backup/youth and potentially another backup/youth.

4 CBs = 2 starters and 2 special team/backup/youth.

3 SFs = 2 starters and 1 backup/youth.

Thanks. Got ya. When I read the previous post the first time it seemed a bit surprising that you run a tight ship and yet have 14 back ups @ the lb and dl positions

The really sad thing is that I know exactly how much I am allowed to train them each in skill level based on the estimated salary curve Excel truly is a great friend

Maybe they should add events like "bank robbery - all your money is lost" to fix this "I know all about the teams salary development" issue

You can just imagine it as part of the training email along with the injury notifications.

Your head office was robbed or your Training Hall was fire bombed, add a bit of that spice
