when attacking down say the right flank. Does that mean the QB will prefer the HB to run that direction and the QB will throw to the WR and TE in that direction more often then the other TE and WR?

As far I have seen then it is both run and pass.

Nope, since there are situations where the two missed tackles are an outside linebacker and a middle linebacker. That would indicate it was a pass over the middle.
Is there anyway to control which patterns a receiver runs? As far as I know, nope. It is all random spice formula

Thats what I thought too.
EDYT: Nevermind, my most recent game with the flank experiment seems to confirm the receivers/backs on the "attack down this flank" side get the ball.

Yes, the majority of the passes goes to the designated side players, but what pattern they get it on is pretty random.
