I know this game is all about 1 skill wonders. I know on D that the best thing to do is train Tackling up. I've got my defensive starters all around 10 and capped fitness most everywhere. My team doesn't miss many tackles. My question is what else do you train on D? What helps a DL to get defeat the blocks of OL and get TFL or sacks? What helps LB & S to diagnose plays and stop forward progress of RB or defend passes? What helps CB to defend passes?
In my last match, I gave up 162 yards rushing (3.5 ypc). Comparing our teams (OL vs DL & LB) I don't see how he was able to amass that many yards or I was unable to get him off the field.

Good job
What helps a DL to get defeat the blocks of OL and get TFL or sacks?
The fitness skills pertinent to the position
What helps LB & S to diagnose plays and stop forward progress of RB or defend passes?
Intelligence (Positioning does help but its not the widely approved opinion)
What helps CB to defend passes?
Tactical skills( P & V)

Consistency? Defensive play calling? Lead back blocking?
The in game ratings dont account for much but his ol is good but his ol seem to have poor stamina (probably less than 8 in general)
I m not a 100 % on this but playing 4-4 u seem to give up a few more yards than 4-5 or 5-4 or 3-4 or 4-3 (anythin with a NT/ MLB) if the lines are evenly mached

OL vs DL, I kind of assume its OL = Strength & Blocking. What is the DL? I would think Tackling has nothing to do with defeating blocks, so what is it? Agility? Footwork? Does Tactical do anything?

Even though it doesn't really make any sense in real life, I think tackling has more of an effect than just tackling the player, and actually accounts for points to how good a player is.
EX.
Main skill+Secondary skill+Secondary skill=Performance
Defense L
Tackling+Agility+Strength=Performance
10+8+15=33
Offense L
Blocking+Footwork+Strength=Performance
11+9+16=36
So then the game engine would see a 33 DL versus a 36 OL, and the game would proceed accordingly.

This may be completely wrong, but that's how I see it due to our current results and some studying.
