In the training section, blocking is listed as a defensive skill. Is blocking the skill that OL's and FB's are suposed to be good at, or is it something else

If you check the players skills, it seems to be important for LB. Don't know why though

How did you go about making this conclusion?

Fantom, there are numberous posts on this questions already. We believe that it is due to defending the QB.

Regards.

Guru.

Checking my squad. Now that I took a better look at it it seems natural position is useless.

Yes it is. See this thread for more details:

One thing i don't understand. I know natural positions are not right, however, if you say blocking is an hability for OL why it can only be trained by defenders?

Why do you think it can only be trained by defenders?
Because it`s under the defensive skills?
It`s been discussed about 100 times on this forum. Just choose under group defending, choose under focus on blocking and your linemen will train blocking.

I know, it doesn't really make any sense. But to be honest, we don't know for sure what skills are needed for each position or even exactly what each skill means. And the game's creators won't tell us - apparently it's part of the fun!
The game engine could, for all we know, compare the Blocking attribute for both the OL and DL players who face each other. Or some sort of mean average of a team's OL vs the opponent's DL. Then blocking would actually be needed for Defenders, as in 'defeating blocks'.

But nobody really knows for certain.

I don't know if it's co-incidence, but some of the best DL players in terms of rating that I've seen have had 5/6 at Blocking.
