In the defenses configuration I see lots of guys puting their SS on one side, and the FS on the middle... what's the point ? What's the difference with puting the FS on the oposite side of the SS ?

By scouting your opponent, you can key into where they most often run and where they most often pass. You can get a sense for this by carefully analyzing past games in the match archives and/or scouting their players. I believe since safeties are the last line of defense to preventing TD's, the thought process is to equally shut down both the passing and running as best as possible. Personally, I most often use just one safety and will use SS or FS based on whether they run or pass more
