Spending money on players

While i know you have to spend money on your stadium, then fitness coaches then fitness center (think its in that order anyway) when would people recommend to start purchasing players? Like spending a fair bit of money on a couple of 'good' players? Is it when your VIP, Exec seats have maxed out? Is it after 'x' number of seats in the stadium etc?

What would people recommend to be the first couple of purchasers? QB? WR? Would people recommend buying young or established players? What rating ks classed as 'good' for my division etc etc

Hope that makes sense and sorry for being a pain and asking a lot of questions

First off, it is never wrong to ask questions!

Now that we got that settled I would recommend that you keep an eye on the transfer marked and see if you pick up a few talented players at cheap prices. Keyword is cheap! Don't spend all your money on players, since there will be more each week.

Personally I aim to get at least talent 3.5+ for any position.

QBs is 18+ intelligence and consistency.

MLB is 18+ intelligence.

SF is 16+ intelligence.

Personally I prefer having decent consistency on all my players, but I haven't managed to get it yet. Until you got players with a skill of 20 then consistency swings both ways, so it is both a blessing and a curse.

Teamwork is a nice skill to have a high value on the player when you don't have any facilities or coaches, but when everything is hired and build the importance of it diminishes.

as jesper said, know what you want, and get it..

you can find some good bargains on the market at times, my view was always:

"If im going to buy X player, do i have the facilities etc at the moment to train him up at the rate i want" if the answer was no, then i wait, spend more time developing my infrastructure... If yes, i set myself a 'maximum' im willing to spend and work to that..

when i 1st started, i had 2 safeties that have consistentsy. so i brought a safety with high stats and consistentsy. made 1 of the originals a backup.

just an example of why you might purchase new player/s early.

and for the OPs team. i'd buy new players to replace all the 29/30/31/32yo players as they are not able to inprove their stats. a 29yo will be 30yo in 1.5 weeks when the new season starts.

is it worth spending a bit of money on a quality QB, while my young QB trains up? or spending money on a young WR or whatever other position you guys deem worth spending a wack of money on.

You just joined less than a month ago, so I would recommend NOT spending "a bit" of money until you get more seats put in and you are more familiar with how the transfer market works. Train your current team on fitness, that will keep your salaries down. Try to put most of your extra money into seats until you get enough seats to get decent income on your home games. If you really want to dabble in the transfer market, I would suggest looking at 16-17 yr olds to replace your older guys first, but only guys that are selling for 1-5k, no more. That would be my suggestion. You can find some gems at that price range sometimes and it won't clobber your finances. Seats are the ticket to financial latitude in this game

How much is a decent income at home games? How many seats?

Thanks
