Me too, its super confusing that the BPOS doesnt reflect the actual strenght of a player, makes it hard to figure out where the other teams are strong.. Of course you can look at the wages and calculate a "worst case scenario" player, but it takes so much more time compared to hattrick.org where you can asses a teams strenght alot faster thus making the game more user friendly (read noob-friendly )

Totally agree with you...
How do you find out which player of an opponent team you should put your best player against, if the rating doesn't reflect... the rating of the player ?
Weird...

BPOS IS NOT RATING!!!! BPOS IS JUST WHAT IT SAYS

as i have said before, BPOS is how 'comfortable' or 'experienced' a player is at a given position...

let take a real life example.... last season, McNabb (a QB) in wildcat situations takes the place of a WR... he has great catching, decent speed, but he was never going to be as good as an equivalently gifted WR, because....... he did not have the experience / training / comfort-ability of that position. BPOS is just that level of comfort.. the only way to look at a players true ability for the position is there match ratings, which include consistency etc, so you need to look over a few different games, and also there stats for given games...

I get that, all Im saying is it confusing and forces you to waste a whole lot of time getting information you hardly know where to look for as a new player... This IMO holds the game back alot cause it will never be big if you cant include those who are a bit more causal....

You gotta admit it seems kind of stupid that it says "rating" right next to the BPOS if its really not a rating...

Yep, really the only time I find it confusing is when I pick up a transfer player and it's obvious someone has been playing them at entirely the WRONG position. This raises the bpos for a position the player is not suited for. Just scratch my head and wonder how long it will take to change em to the right position

When you "trust" the player to become a long term starter -> play him and he will change

From my experience: BPOS is just an additional factor included into players game rating calculation - the higher the BPOS for sure, the better the game rating, but there is no disadvantage playing him "out of best position"

Well imho BPOS is v.important. In Admins own words "acts as another primary skill" (plus it costs nothing in salary) so there is a big advantage there. However, in my own experience BPOS seems to be more important at certain positions. My team started to improve massively when I beagn playing with BPOS as a big factor in my own player evaluations for my starting lineup.
