In my experience, speed determines the yardage gained or lost on a play, but has no effect on broken tackles. So it matters, to a degree, but it's far far less important than other skills.

It may not be AS important as other things, but I'd still much rather have a roster full of 17-20 speed guys then 11-14.

I'd rather have 17-20 strength guys with 10 speed, than 17-20 speed guys with 10 strength.

i would rather have some with high strength, some with high speed, and some with both..

have to disagree with the whole "speed doesn't really matter in this game", i think you need it but you need to not have ONLY speed... its all about the right balance of skills in each position...

i would rather have all str guys
its pretty conclusive. Str has a role in deciding games, speed doesnt

I agree with this statement. If you have a 20 speed guy going up against a 5 speed guy, the point of impact (where the tackle is either made or missed) is going to occur farther down the field than if the speeds were reversed or the same.

Dont really think speed /strength actually decides the ypc for RBs.

I remember admins saying speed is important for WRs .....To be honest I doubt the skills individually have an effect.A faster WR may not necessarily have more YAC.

Curiosity Questions... (No offense intended)
Do you guys like having the core game mechanics shrouded in mystery? Would it be better if we knew exactly what caused our teams to tick? Or is it a better game when the players (us) draw their own conclusions about what works and what doesnt?

I like this game, I'm not a veteran by any means. I'm lookin forward to moving up in the ranks and being pummeled by bigger and badder adversaries.

I like the community here, you guys are pretty b@da$$.

Most people will disagree with me, but I believe there should be an unknown element. Other games have step-by-step do this, then do that lists...at that point, you're not playing a game...you're just a trained monkey.
