Can someone explain to me why putting info about a player for sale on the press release is an issue at all. It's your page, why can't you put what you want on it (subject to common decency of course)?

I'm not asking the question because I desperatly want to advertise a player I have no interest in doing so, I was just wondering what the rationale for the rule is.

I guess there are a few reasons not to... what happens if you post something like stats etc, as soon as you have sold the player you are then breaking the rules.... as you have posted stats of a player that is no longer yours.

the fact is, by saying "advertisements for selling players are limited to X location" you reduce people trying to find loopholes etc (like the old use of signatures to advertise players)

Also it should be of note, can Non supporters post press releases? NO, so your allowing supporters an additions space to advertise there players, giving them a true in game advantage...

I'm not sure what the official ruling on this is. We'll just have to wait for an admin on that.

My opinion is that I don't see a problem with it. I don't see it as being a big advantage. I know I'm not going to open every team page just to see if someone is selling players.
As for it being an in-game advantage? I don't see how it's any bigger of an advantage than non-supporters having to waste about 8 weeks of training to find the speed and strength caps.

not opening up ever team page... your right there... to be honest as i stated that its just one of a few reasons...

what i will say is, if people are of the mind of using press releases to advertise players, whats to stop them having links in there profile signature, and also posting about new press released in the forum, after all it would not be breaking the rules as such...

my point is, surely its better to say "you can post ads in X location" as opposed to "you cannot post ads in X location, Y location, or references to X and Y in Z or W or references to X,X,Y, ..... etc etc etc) unless you keep it clear, people will try to find an advantage...

ahh the statement of player stats after the player has been sold is the key issue here. while they are on your team, no issue. you can tell your players stats to who you want. after the player has been sold, and by this I mean the absolute minute he is sold he is another players property and therefore it is a violation of the rules. Isn't this happening with ads?
I never post an ad when I put a player on the market, but more like the day when he is sold.

it's expressly allowed in Ads. not expressly allowed anywhere else.Last edited on 2010-03-26 at 18:53
