Hi y'all !

Question about the rules :
I purchased a supporter account. Are we allowed to "advertise" about the players we sale on the Press Releases ?

Thanks

It is not in the rules.
I don't know if it is allowed, you should contact the admins to be sure.

the community rules say this:

8. ADVERTISEMENTS FOR PLAYERS
It is not allowed to make advertisements for players on transfer list, not in forum messages, and not in signatures. You need to use the transfer ads section for this.

but since the press release isn't on the community, I don't know!

When you look into
Home -> Game Rules -> 8. ADVERTISEMENTS FOR PLAYERS

It is not allowed to make advertisements for players on transfer list, not in forum messages, and not in signatures. You need to use the transfer ads section for this.

-> So, posting as a Press Release will count as "advertisement for player" when the mentioned is parallel on the transfer list -> not allowed because the "Press Release" is not the transfer ads sectionLast edited on 2010-03-26 at 10:52

I don't know what the ruling is here either but I kinda feel like that should be allowed. Just my 2 cents...

As AncientGreco said, in the rules it doesn't specifically list the guest book as somewhere you can not advertise, but it does state advertisements should be limited to the ads section, to me, posting an ad in the press release section is at the least "going against the spirit of the rules"

we had a similar situation in the past with signatures, to led to there being mentioned more specifically in the rules now. I think the "You need to use the transfer ads section for this." tells us all we need to know...

I don't agree.
It's the community rules.
It should be read as: ' if you want to make and ad in the community, do it in te ads section.'

press release is not in the community, so does not apply for the press release.

PS.
I don't think it should be allowed, because there is an ads section, but it isn't against the rules IMO.

As mod I would say: It is not allowed.

The rules tell: you need to use the transfer ads section for this.

This says all IMO.

press release is not in the community, so does not apply for the press release.

interesting point you bring up...

and people could argue that point... the counter argument would be, that the term "community rules" does not apply solely to the section of the site accessible through the "community" link in the top bar, but instead refers to rules involving the "community"

This argument is supported by the fact that within the "community rules" section there are rules pertaining to Private messages, the messages are not within the "community" linked section of the site, and so, including them in those rules shows those rules extend beyond the section linked to as "community"

have to say, nice catch though serrie, could see people using that as an excuse...

Well, as Serrie said, ...
No well, ok... just kidding, and I didn't think that my question would bring so much discussions !
I agree that it's against the spirit of the game. However, I would say that if a team has put its best player for sale, it could be on the "Press Release" since the news shoud be on the papers, once again, if it's an important and known player !
Anyway, I will continue to use the ads section... but why anyone wants to buy my great young players !!!!
Thanks all

Can someone explain to me why putting info about a player for sale on the press release is an issue at all. It's your page, why can't you put what you want on it (subject to common decency of course)?

I'm not asking the question because I desperatly want to advertise a player I have no interest in doing so, I was just wondering what the rationale for the rule is.
