I've been thinking about how I want to build my team in the future (after my current QB ages to 30ish) and I've been considering an empty backfield offense with a high running percentage. I'm looking into building up a good passer with high agility, strength, and speed (sort of like a Michael Vick or Vince Young but a good passer).

So has anyone ever tried an offense like this?

My setup would be something like this

WR WR TE TGCGT TE WR
---------------QB

You need at least 1 RB on the field for it to be a legal formation Sorry to break your dream so fast.

and since RBs help protect
you might as well train an rb with high blocking

If you have the HB offset either left or right doesn't the QB then assume running duties to the opposite side??

Could play some sort of "Spread Offence then?"

QB doesnt really take over all the rush plays towards the other side, if thats what you mean

spread offense

Well sure u can have 6 eligible receivers .... (with a Jim Brown like fullback probably to provide blocking and some decent ypc)
4 WRs 2 TEs

IMO yup having an extra receiver doesnt really seem to make a difference.
And when I played a WR3 (worse than WR1,WR2), the overall completion% stats took a bit of a hit.
