I agree, it's every manager's choice. What most of us offer is advice on how we've done it, or wished we'd done it. Myself, I didn't get coaches until the end of my second season. Looking back, I wish I had gotten fitness coaches a bit earlier.

There is also GI Management tools that can help you better review how your players will fare in each position. You can download this to your computer and then once you input your name and password, you can download your player roster to that and begin reviewing your positions. You need to know that "natural" position is completely random to begin with and also for any new youth player you pick up. It's up to each manager to determine what the "best" position is for each player based on all their skills.

I would suggest the following in order of priority when you first arrive:

Get a sponsor, build vip seats, schedule friendlies each week at venues with 9-14k seats, download GIM, download greasemonkey and then all the scripts that go with it, review your players on GIM to determine each players desired (or best) position so you can begin playing them in that position, set preliminary starting line up and save it, hire a fitness coach, set training to "average, for all players, set training to "fitness" and "all skills" for all players, read the forums (most especially center for rookies) everyday, get match day sponsors after every match. Repeat building vip seats and then execs until they are full. Once you get good revenue coming in, you should be familiar enough with the game to determine where you go from there

Whoa! Lots of good advice I'll try to follow your steps carefully and see where I can go from here. Now it's time to find a friendly match for next Monday!

If you go in the ADS section which is just on the right, then you can see some people who are looking for friendlies.
