Sure I agree with Steve here, QB's & MLB's are considered offensive and defensive "captains" if you like so a certain amount of self governance is expected and I should imagine it also goes hand in hand with the "vision" skill. I suppose in depends on the complexity of a playing positon... i.e. Nose Tackle does not have to be gifted with high intelligence
