I kinda like to think footwork is important, too. But that's more of an "based on RL assumption" then actual knowledge.

And why is nobody mentioning blocking?

yup once u hawe enough tackling for your diwision, blocking is important if you want marginal increase in tackling but want to keep your wage increase minimal

If someone trained blocking i m assuming tackling and agility must hawe increased too. And so they must be comparable to blocking. which could explain his performance. (then again he might be getting some decently easy matchups)
For example in ur prewious game ur opponent had 3 Ol and 2 FBs blocking
