Hi,
i've taken over a team with 4 Players mentioning..."plans to retire from pro-football after this season is over"

So, since the season is nearly over, and i don't actually need them for the last match, does it make sense to fire them now ?

Firing doesn't cost anything. However, you can't fire a player who is about to retire.

i would, might was well save on the wages, and find replacements etc...

you didnt used to be able to, didnt they change it last season so you could?

They could have. I haven't had the chance to try it because none of my players ever seem to retire.

Further confirmation anyone?

Hi, just fired one of the 4 players planing to retire, it worked...

Good to know. Looks like I was wrong.

But yeah, with only 1 game left, good decision. It saves you a weeks worth of salary for those 4 players, and doesn't cost you a thing.

That was the main argument for changing it last offseason.

That was the main argument for changing it last offseason.



The way to fix that is to have a week at the start of the season to cut the player who is planing to retire this way i dont think anyone could find a reason to complain about except for the player
