Which skills are important for a punter?
He'll reach his maximum on punting soon, so I want to switch training.

Last I heard the kicking game still has a very limted implementation in the GE and the Admins stated it works only on the BPOS and the primary skill.
So if your punter is maxed on punting, train him on kicking if he's a backup to your kicker or train on something that will cost no salary ie fitness.

So you think that a punter has no useful sideskills?

Have to tell: my punter punts for 40+ since his kicking is higher...I know this is opposite to the "quote", but my experience

Is it wise to carry a kicker and a punter or would it be better to have one guy do both?

There is no actual Punter position so they share the same BPOS (Kicker).
To me it makes sense to have 2 Kickers training in both kicking and punting to back each other up in case of injury.

Pls note: there is no BPOS, but there is a dedicated rating for punters

I've always assumed the Kicker BPOS would also effect punting performance and this seems to work fine for my player evaluations. Unless I've missed it, I haven't seen the Admins explain punting with enough detail to ignore Kicker BPOS.
