You'd think they'd be doing something, since they clearly do not catch the ball

Does anyone know if HBs or FBs provide better pass protection versus run support?

Interesting topic, but to add to that, I've yet to see my FB carry the ball. Now I have mostly been giving my QB the option to pick plays and perhaps there is a personality clash I have to deal with. But seriously, does anybody have a FB that actually gets to run the ball?

Whenever there's a FB and a HB in the same zone, the HB will get all of the carries. If you moved it to say HB(C), FB(R) and attacked down the right flank, the fullback would get pretty much all of the carries(from what I understand).

In the formation you use, the fullback is used as nothing but a blocker.

In my first game I had the FB lined up center and my HB lined to the left. The FB got 6 carries and the HB got 17 ... seemed like balanced run attack if you have a FB who can kick some.

When you use split HB does that 'maximize' your running game at the cost of passing defense?
