Does anyone think having Gunners on your roster is a waste?
We already know there is some sort of kick return 'bug' / fix whereby the losing team usually has much better kick return yardage, so do good high salary gunners actually help our teams?
Also a lot of kick return tackles are made by players other than gunners.
Thoughts?

agreed. having gunners with high saleries and skills over 10 is useless. i just use those players that are not good enough for my defense anymore as gunners. that way i have guys for the gunner position, and don't have to let defensive players play special teams as well, which imo would "draw a stamina penalty", and i have a place for my defensive backups, so they actually play and don't get paid for doing nothing

I noticed this a long time ago, but it looks more like a way of balancing the game than an actual bug: Just an awkward way of doing it. That being said, it looks like the balance of a game overrides the quality of the players involved in particular ST plays, thus making special teams more of an afterthought. THAT being said (I'm in repeat mode tonight ), if two teams are somewhat equally matched, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have higher quality gunners and ST CBs than the opposing team for when the match engine calculates who'll get the win...

Yes, I'd had similar thoughts. In a close game it's possible good gunners could give one team an edge.
But I'm trying to think ahead with wage bills in mind and I'm thinking the wages would be better spent on more effective positions QB, TE etc.

No if you want a player to train his footwork, you need to play him as Gunner
