How does 'stamina' affect a player during a game?

could a LB have 1 Stamina and still be effective or would they be better off as a 'special teams' player?

A player with low stamina has their stats deteriorate at a faster rate during the game than a player with 20, on a scale of 5% difference per skill rank.
