does having high levels of staff help u alot.

It helps big time with training. But it's also very expensive, so the best bet is to build up your stadium(VIP first, then executive seats, then regular seats) until you know you can afford the higher staff salaries.

From there, I think the majority of managers would recommend the fitness coaches first, they will not affect wages

Saying that, when I started I really had no clue whatsoever, so I had coaches at 5 all over the place

Took me a season and a half to get a clue

For the first season I would play the team in the positions that were chosen for them, then i realised that i could change their positions

lol, that is exactly where I'm at! I sold some guys that were highly rated but may have had a cap or something. So I've rearranged my roster some. I'm trying to have my semi finalized roster by Monday.

yep... went through all that myself.... still have a few young players to get into positions, but im not rushing them, have a squad i can use at the moment, just a matter of adding in other players to competitive games as they improve .... so in the future will be selling off the 3.5 and 4 talent guys once the 4.5 talent guys reach the right level..
