tackling(that's obvious), strengh, vision, positioning and intelligence.
and in case of an outside linebacker, i'd add speed and possiby agility.
but imho, the tactical skills are the most important for LB's.

intel and a lot of positioning. vision as well and decent physical skills will certianly help. but tackling is the thing that ties it up.

top 3 would be in no order, intel positioning and tackling

what about stamina? how much does that factor into an LB --and any other player for that matter?

I'd advise to read the threads at the top of the rookie area for help with these questions. Stamina is equally important for every position.

Stamina reduces the lessening of skills over a match. If you don't have high skills, stamina doesn't matter.

Actually, Special Teams guys may not need as much stamina.

hard to absolutely quantify that one as we don't get any kind of quarterly report on ratings or anyhting but based on the stamina results on number of plays and duty from the last lab rats I don't think stamina is affected by anything other than quarter. Peter would have better numbers as always though.

Steve, that's what I was looking for I think. So an older player with decent skills and a super low stamina might finish his career on Special Teams. dig.

thanks all.
