Who can tell me what the best training strategy is? I am in my first season and still flexible in my choices I guess. What's wise?

Do you mean intensity, or per position?

I think you will want to go through your roster and figure out whose attributes fit in the best positions. Then since you are a new team, I would train 100% fitness. a) It won't raise the wages of your team to make speed/strength/stamina as high as possible and b) the additional stamina will help you in the later games. This will also show you the fitness caps of players in case you need to swap positions (ie. an OL who caps strength at 10 or 11 will need to change positions) before their BPOS rating gets too high. Since your wages won't be raising in the offseason, you can concentrate on putting every dollar you earn into VIP & Exec seats. The only building I would purchase would be the Fitness Center and keep your coaches at 1's except fitness coach.

Others have a different philosophy, so I'd love to hear them.

I agree fully with slider. As for training intensity, most people just stick to average so that it doesn't knock down energy too much. However with the new rest week it may be possible to go hard as long as the rest weeks are set to kick in around 90%. Not completely sure on that but I'm sure someone will try it and let us know.

I hired following coaches when I started playing:
att 5 / def 3 / kicking 2 / tactical 3 / fitness 3

Not a real good choice, but I did it before taking a look at the forum. I could hire fitness 20, if I cut the other coaches back to 1 (because of the 10 times wages I have to have on my account. Can I use the money on my account to build VIPs on Monday or do I have to keep it for the coaches?
I already have full VIPs on one goal line stand (and 300 executives on one long side) and would completely upgrade the VIPs on the other goal line stand on Monday after the friendly.

What do you think?

once you have hired the coaches, you dont need to keep the 10x wages in your account, it just needs to be there at the point you hire them... sort of a security measure that you can afford the coaches long term

Should I cut the other coaches (if it's possible) and hire the fitness 20?

personally i would, and then train fitness in everyone, so you can find caps etc ASAP and also wont have your wages going to to fast while the team is young...

others may give you different views on it though... so no need to rush into it...

The wages for the coaches would only be 10k more than now. So I could afford it easily...

i agree with mdj.. i would do the same thing. having coaches at 2 or 3 doesn't do that much, except cost money, but having fitness coaches at 20, would imo be much more useful.
fitness skills are very important, and they don't increase the wages, which is a major upside if you ask me
