I'm fine with how it is now, except I'd like to see(and I'm sure the admins are working on it and we'll have it eventually) a full special teams so that we can get our backups playing that way.

I'd also like to see backups be able to get into the game once stamina matters more, say when our current players get below 60% to keep fresh players on the field.

substitutions,while great ,might be detrimental to the learning curve at this point as the play by play report does not include what players are playing at what time so we would have a hard time knowing what set of players produce a given set of results. Not that I am against the Idea all together but rather I think that we should know more about the game engine before the player combination variable gets added in.

I have to agree that substitutes would be great. Perhaps multiple players can be assigned to the same position with a percentage of playing time being chosen by the manager in the orders screen. Right now I would like to rotate my DL players and split my halfbacks on a 75%-25% ratio instead of having one player carry all the load and wear himself out.
