This may save some of you newer players some grief. First of all always check his energy level. Anything less than about 90% will render that player basically useless until you can get his energy back up. I've seen some ungodly amounts paid for players with a good rating and a 65% energy level. One other hint I'll share is if a players flag isn't the same as the team that is selling him. Simply click on the selling team then click on their transfer list and check what they paid for the player. If a team purchases a player for 3,000 and two weeks later wants 175,000 I'm not sure but I doubt if you want him. Hope this helps . I could have saved myself some grief when I first started by following these ideas.

Also want to add that you want to make sure to scout the player dont always believe what the owner tells you about him inless hes someone you really trust not to lie to you about skills and ratings

Scouts are the best way to go, but honesty is a big plus too, because reputation on the transfer market will last you a long, long time

Another piece of advice I would give is to make some friends on the forums. That way, if you run out of scouting reports and aren't sure if you should trust info given from someone, that player could scout him for you. Of course there's no guarantee that they would tell you the complete truth either, but you have a much better shot of getting a straight answer out of someone you've come to know and trust than a random owner in the game.

I for example rarely use more than 2 of my scouting reports. I would be more than happy to help a newbie not get screwed on the market every once in a while.

Diddo that for me, when I'm not in a buying mood(even if that's rare ) I rarely use all my scouting reports.

And I agree with the previous posts about honesty being remembered, and couldn't agree more. I sometimes forget to update the rankings, bid wayyy to much for a player, or lead a thread off-topic because of my love for pies or cake or fudge..speaking of fudge, my friend's mom just made an entire pan ..but when somebody messages me about a player I'm selling, wondering their talent or caps, I don't hide anything. And I can say the same for quite alot of you out there, you've earned a good reputation thus far.

Reputation means a lot as well. Get to know people on the forums. There have been ads placed that I didn't scout nor ask the owner if it was true about the Talent level because it is someone I have a degree of trust in. I think it was mdjseymour. I would save your scouts only for players you are thinking of putting a large chunk on. If it is less than 25k then I don't worry much. Over 100k and I scout for sure. I look forward to the day I can plunk 100k and not have to scout .

I just plopped 850k without a scout. But this manager has built a reputation of selling me exactly what he says the product is.

Although I did plop around 250k once without a scout, and came out on the losing end of that one..

Well this is only my second complete season, so I'm sure it will take a few seasons. I'm trying to save enough money so that I can build all of my exec and VIP seats for one section during the offseason. Is that what you veterans do? My plan is to build all the $ seats one section at a time. Then go through and do the same for the regular seats. Sorry for the off topic question, just happen to be on and it popped in my head lol.
