Is it a good idea to play players out of position if they have better than stats than those players who play that position, for example
A Safety with 10 Passing and a QB with 4 passing, would it make sense to play the Safety at QB, if his other stats were compatable?

yes.... the safetry will improve his QB rating the more you play him at QB, unil its better than his safety rating, and he will be re classed as a QB (if you hover your mouse over the "?" beside the player rating on a player screen, you will be able to see his rating for different positions.. playing him in a position, increased his rating for that position (although it can take time)

At least at the beginning of your GI life you will need to sort all players once by skills, not by BPOS, regardless stats. This will resort your roster due the mentioned position change after some matches. So yes, play the SF in your example as QB!
