Hello all,

As a relatively new manager, about a month and a half, I have not been buying any players due to the ridiculous salaries I would have to pay. However, I have been accepting a youth player every week. In the long run does it pay to keep them all on the books? Does or did anyone use a minimum talent level to decide whether to keep them or some other criteria? Also, do players improve more quickly if they are played in games or does this not make any difference?

Thanks in advance

keeping a youth players is really a choice only you can make... personally almost all my players are currently 3.5 talent or higher, so keeping a lower talent youth player, on a teams with no players above 19, does not really make sense.. however, if our starting out, i think its worth keeping your youth, seeing if there any good, obviously, if there stupid and inconsistent with low teamwork, there is no point keeping them... lol

Playing players in matches only increases there BPOS (and experience), it does not increase there other skills.

to be honest, at your level right now( since you just started) i woudn't keep those who have less than 1.5 stars talent. later on, you can become more choosey, and only take those with 2.5 and more.
the reason for this is, that with 1. stars talent, the highest positional rating a player could get is 3.5 stars, and he can't have any skill over 13. (i know at your point you prolly won't care about that, but at least positional rating is uite important).

if by improve by playing games you mean gaining positiona rating and team chemistry, then the answer is YES.
if you mean if players increase thier skills by playing games, hen i'd have to say NO.
so if you have a game that's not so important on your standing in your division for example (like games against bot teams, or friendlies), i'd always use those players that are not in your best lineup, just so that they can gain positiona rating and team chemistry.
hope this helps

my last 2 guys had 3. talent. that would be cool, but they both had consistency 1, and their fitness skills were like 8 or thelike. fired their butts. lol

moonlighting i dont think they work at all personally i think they get the roster of the local teams and randomly pick names off of it!

Yes, i'd agree...........nothing like the hype and excitement of going to pull your youth player for the week, then running to the roster to check the stats, getting all stoked cuz you just pulled a 4.5 star talent and then the let down when you see the 1 intelligence, 1 t/w and 1 consistency!! Pure random let down, thank goodness the weekend is near

Do you get better youth players when you are in a higher division because you have better "contacts"?
