Im still waiting for the next (slash my first) game and Im trying to figure out what are the tactical things that I should be aware in order to be prepared. Is scouting the opponent and their last games worth it, especially in my level?

Should i adjust my formations to their pass/rush ratio? And is this all i can/should do about the ratio? Just crowd the LOS to stop the run. And if they were running the ball the whole night, do i still need a safety?

Can i make player matchups with the formation? Like if they have a high rated WR on the left side of the formation, should i put my best DB as right cornerback to cover him?

I wouldn't bother scouting in Div. V unless it's a battle for promotion with a very evenly matched team. It's just not worth the cash lost.

You always need a safety, imo, especially against the run as they're the last line of defense. I've never seen a defense without one. When I like to focus against the run, I run a 4-4 with a SS center. Some teams prefer the 5-2, but most prefer to stick with their 3-4 or 4-3. It comes down to making sure your best players are on the field.

Yes. Try to match their strengths against yours and your strengths against their weaknesses. Warning though, they'll prolly try to do the same thing, possibly leaving you where you started with mismatches.

I dint know that i could spend money on scounting. By scouting i meant that id look at the opponent's recently played games, and see what kind of formations they use, how much they run and etc, but you kinda answered that already.

About the matchups, if an opponent uses some kind of a slot formation with two receivers on a side, who is covering the slot man? Are formations like this considered at all in the game engine? Of course there are motions and some other tricks to create matchups in game of football, so the slot man might be simulated as flanker or wing back in the engine?

there's a button available when you click on someone else's player to 'scout' him. you'll receive a message in your inbox telling you the player's stats, talent, consistency etc.

it's mostly used when browsing the transfer market to check a player's talent attribute (as this is normally hidden), but is also be used to see what kind of players you might be up against with an opponent.

however, as stated is does cost money, $3500 a time i think and you can only use it 5 times in any given week
