Hello everyone:

I have just started playing this great game and I have some questions:

1) Do I have to place my players in their natural position or should look at their skills to know where they can play better?

2) Should I sell all my players those are not good at any position and buy new ones?

3) What do you recommend me to train?

Thank you all!

Welcome to the game!

You certainly do not have to play players in their natural position. After a period of time playing a different position they will eventually adapt to it, so your best bet is to figure out where they'd be best and put them there.

I wouldn't advise going crazy or spending a lot of money on buying players until you build up your stadium, however I would always be on the lookout for young, cheap, highly talented players.

I personally would train the physical skills(stamina, strength, and speed) until you build up your stadium and can afford better coaching. At that time you can start training everything else. With the way the wages around here work, I wouldn't want to go out and train too many primary skills early on when you may not be afford the wage increase in the offseason. With physical skills, you don't have to worry about high they get; they don't matter in the wage calculation.

3 useful tools you can use for any other questions that come up are the FAQ(located on the top row in Help/FAQ), the "Read This Before you Do Anything Else" sticky(located at the top of the rookies forum, or at http://www.grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=4096), or of course you can always ask here. The community here is great and is more than willing to help new players solve any problems they have when first starting out.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy the game!

Firsly... Welcome, and good luck with the game...

now on with your questions...

1) Do I have to place my players in their natural position or should look at their skills to know where they can play better?

You can play any layer in any position, if you click on an individual player and hover your mouse pointer over the ? beside where it says 'rating' you will be able to see there current rating in different positions.. you can increase these ratings by playing them in the relevent position.. it may take a few games, but if you stick at it you can get them to shift position...

Early on its best to do this ASAP to get the players into the positions you feel best suit them..

2) Should I sell all my players those are not good at any position and buy new ones?

Firstly, build up your stadium, Get VIP and Exec seating before you think about buying in to many players... also remember your able to have a 'youth pull' every week ( Go to "Club" and then choose "Youth Players" and you may be able to get one right now in fact"

3) What do you recommend me to train?

Personally, i would work on training your players Fitness skills to start with, it will keep wages low (wages depend on the highest skill (and a little for other skills) excluding the fitness skills (Speed, strength and stamina)

Also, please look up... http://www.grid-iron.org/index.php?page=community&subpage=viewt&t=4096

its a very good place to start...

lol Looks like we gave pretty much the same info though. Just said in different ways.

Noticed after reading both threads that I kept calling the FITNESS skills PHYSICAL skills. They are fitness. My bad if there's any confusion there.

Thank you two!!

All my players are now training Fitness and I will look player by player what position is his best. Another question: I have a few players a bit old: 29, 30, 32... Should I sell them and buy young players?

About the stadium, I am building 300 seats, I should build VIP seats before the others, shouldn't I?

I would not sell the old ones, I would keep them until I have replacements. I would not buy youngsters, I would pull them from my weekly youth pull. And yes, building VIP first is a good idea!

+1

Can go wrong if you follow the above, just remember things happen slowly...dont expect awesomeness within weeks.

the good advice train has been through here!

on the training issue. yes fitness but if the players primary stats are close to going up. do it over the others because they will go up so slow anyway that u need all the help u can get for an advantage.
