On a similar note, do you think that speed is a key factor with half backs?

I don't think speed is that important for Half backs. I have two Halfbacks, one has 15 strength and the other has 11 strength. The half back with the better strength always seems to be better.

are you playing them in the fb or hb slots?

str over speed for HB

Half Back. Strength seems to be a the most important skill for half backs. Not sure about WRs and TEs.

Personally I dont think strength's all that important for WRs. But I guess it is important for TEs since the Admins stated that TEs are basically just OL who are able to catch a ball!

+1

str over speed for WR

i changed few games ago my speed WR (16 speed - 9 str) with a power receiver (15 str - 11 speed) and it worked out fine for me ..

for me str and catching is the way to go for a wr ..

If strength is more important to wide receivers than speed then that would be fundamentally flawed on so many different levels.

For me if 2 receivers had the same catching skills the faster player should almost always come out on top. A bit of strength helps a wide receiver handle bump coverage and taking catches in a crowd but would anyone say Terrell Owens is vastly better than Marvin Harrison because he weighs 20 pounds more and is clearly stronger...I wouldn't.

There again a receiver with 20 speed who has stone hands would be useless also and be converted to Corner or Gunner immediately.

If I am right then tackling-strength is opposite to agility-strength. Means you break tackles by agility and strength.

However, only a guess.

thats seems logical, with speed deciding the distance traveled between tackles etc...

Hm... yeah, after giving this some more thought, I think you're probably right MDJ! Kinda makes sense...

I'm yet to be convinced of the value of any secondary skills when comparing them to primary skills (passing, catching etc), BPOS, stamina, chemistry and energy.
This GE seems very simple and I don't think there are any complex play calculations involving secondary skills.
It's my guess that any secondary skills relevant to a position are probably just used as some sort of average in a play calc.
