Any tips? I don't know american football so much. I'll try learning some by playing Madden NFL.

Gi with an easy formation the first games, and then look into the stats how your oppponents beat you and try to understand how to solve these situations where you lost.

I would go with "QB decides", "run and pass"

Offense: WR TE OT OG C OG OT TE WR, a QB and a HB

Defense: DE DT DT DE, CB OLB MLB OLB CB, FS and FS

If you use firefox try the greasemonkey stuff , can be found in "tools" thread (sticky) here in newbee area

Yeah, GreaseMonkey is VERY helpful in GI!

Regarding the tactics: When you play against bots, you can go "Run only" because that will give you more TDs because at the beginning your passing game wont be very good. But the passing game becomes more and more important when you climb through the divisions!

madden is actually really helpful if you wanna figgure out formations, and what kind of plays to call. you'll figgure it out quite fast i'm sure

Look at your peoples strengths.

you can also try these: formations

WR..TE.LT.LG.C.RG.RT.TE
.............QB...............good for a lot running
...........HB..HB

..........SS...SS
......OLB.MLB.MLB.OLB.........good against a lot running
CB......DE..NT..DE.....CB

OT - Offensive Tackles, there called just 'Tackles' in the tactics page for matches..

Ok. Thanks for your help. What about the match orders? What should I set? I mean this sections: "Offensive team orders" and "On 4th down"

set your 4th down to something like "1 yard", and your FG range to 25 yards at the beginning. let the QB decide the direction and prefer run, but not run only against humans...then work it out and make minor changes from game to game....

Against computer opponents I would use: prefer run. Against humans it is a bit more about scouting your opponent and see what kind of defense he or she likes to play. Maybe there is an opportunity to exploit some holes. It also depends on what your team strengths are.

Don't worry to much about 4th down order, since it is broken any ways. At least have seen the game not following my 4th down order. I keep mine at 1 yard. So if I have a 4th and 1 then I will try to run on fourth down.
