Wrong!

You have to use THAT formation where you can win with!

Serious: For me it is

WR...TE..OT..OG..C..OG..OT...TE
.................QB
.............HB.........HB

but of course this depends on your tactics, player skills, and on your opponent

An I formation, splitbacks, and wishbone are common from what I have seen

It really depends on your Opponent.
For getting your players experience imho would play
a Split back two WR set in bot games and friendlies.

WR..TE.T.G.C.G.T...WR
...........Q
........HB...HB

In this case you train 2 Running backs and 2 Wide Receiver.
For games against Human League Managers
you have to find another way

I use this all the time and I've had success with it all over. I usually go all run against bots to run up the score, and then go split against humans.

But I'd agree with everyone else. There is no 1 BEST formation. You just have to try out different ones and see which is best for your team.

I like variants on the I formation, Usually:

TE_LT_LG_CE_RG_RT_TE______WR
_________QB_________________
_________FB_________________
_________HB_________________

But you should tailor the formation to your players:

If you have guys with high blocking and good catching, more TE's
If you have guys with good catching and speed, more WR's

I use this sometimes. I also use

wr-------wr------TE---T---G---C----G-----T------------WR
------------------------------QB
--------------------------RB

Or I flip flop the above and attack the flank with the most weapons. I try to overload with 3 catching players and a rushing player. Most teams try and balance on Defense. The goal of this formation is to take advantage of that.

Yeah, that's what I use except I put the 2 HBs at the FB position.
