The Canadian youth teams are among the best in the world, even beating the United States quite a few times. I'd expect them to beat Japan but if anyone can give them a tough game this early it's probably them.

Today's games are underway. As we're at the 2 minute warning of the first half in the first game, Germany leads New Zealand 23-0. It's been a fumblefest on both sides up till now; I think there's been a total of 11 fumbles so far.

Right now it is tied 14-14 after a lot of good plays from both teams.

USA vs. Mexico will be played later tonight. Germany beat New Zealand 52-7 while Sweden beat France 24-14. The Kiwis got their score on their only complete pass of the night, for a 77-yarder very late in the game. France had Sweden early on, but the Swedes managed to score twice on defense to take the lead and hold on to it throughout the game.Last edited on 2009-07-06 at 7:15

Canda 21 x 14 Japan

Nice game, both teams are playing well, but I think that the japanese players are way undersized, they got a lot of players below 5-8 and 150 pounds....

Canada vs. Japan: 31 - 28 now after some amazingly nice catches by the Japanese receivers. 6:16 to go in the game, and what a game!

Holy crap! Japan just took the lead with 1:27 to go. 35-31 Japan over Canada right now. Their receivers are awesome!

Just a brilliant, brilliant game! Canada won 38-35 over Japan with the last score coming with :16 left on the clock. Congrats to Canada on Canada Day
