I'm new, but i'd rather have the income at this point to help cover my stupid spending spree when I first got this team. I wish that I had a game for some income too.

well, if you guys win in the second round, you're gonna be really happy, cuz you didn't take the risk of getting kicked out of the cup in the first round, plus, you get the sponsor money,as if you had won the game, plus in the end you get the rewards for getting to the next rouund, and you'll get the ticket income from the next game for sure

that's right..but for thse teams, he aren't that good yet, it's better to get a bye in the first round, get all the sponsor money,and play agaist a better team in the second round, which mostly means in a bigger stdium, which means they get more money.
even if tey lose, they still earned more money that way, than if they had lost in the first round

I'm lucky enough to have a bye this season and to be honest I would take that over a possible knockout.

Prize money in your first few season is very crucial. Also helps develop your facilities. Currently toying with a fitness centre but not sure if benefits are worth it, maybe just upgrade my coaching staff.
