What do the Start/ End stars in the match stats indicate?
What do they help infer?
Does it make more sense to fire all 28+ year olds that are not good since i m in a "low div"?
So do i pay 2500 every time i transfer list a player(+3% of the price at which he is sold)? If yes whats the point in transfer listing a player for a price <2500 (unless you expect a bidding war; in which case you might as well protect yourself with a 2500 initial price)?Would it not make more sense just firing the player?

The star/end stars are current stamina of the player.

When selling players, the 2500 list price is deducted that night and the 3% the night after your player is sold. When placing you need to think about whether you'll make more than $2600 else it'd be cheaper just to fire the player.

As to firing older players, I can't really advise there, they may not retire till they're over 30 (afaik), plus remember you need a few spare to cover for injuries.

I got rid of all my old guys, when I felt neccessary. There is no point firing all of the oldies if you are short in depth on a few positions!

The 3% will not always be 3% - This % determines how long your player has been with the club for. Obviously the lower the %, the longer he has been at the club.

The old players often have good experience and team chemistry.
Young and new players need their time to develop their full potential.

If possible keep the old ones. You can still fire them right after the season ends (and before the next season starts).

thanks yall .
So how are the "Start/ End stamina stars" (that appear in match stats) different from the numerical value on the player profile/ how are these two things related?

Apparently players(especially those playing multiple positions) lose stamina when they play [at least the star count is less. I did not record the virgin/pregame stamina stat(player profile) numerical value to compare with the current value]. Since GD in the noob-thread suggests stamina is important, how low should the stamina be for a player to be useless/ conversely how/when do you decide its time to train stamina rather than a primary(or secondary) skill?

P.S. Since the stamina is an imp stat, should it not be a part of the player skills' spreadsheet =P

GD, that is a new one. I will add that one to the list

You will have numerous opinions towards this. I can only tell you what I have done.

My defenders do not have ridiculous good tackling - as low as 4 in some positions - but they are all capped on strength and speed and have atleast 8 stamina with some having 12.

Nobody knows the importance of Stamina, I just figured that I would like my guys to perform well throughout the whole game.

The decision is yours; higher primary skills, or great fitness levels. If the latter, get a fitness coach and a fully upgraded fitness centre - It will help you greatly.

A fitness coach seems a good idea. I was not doubting the importance of stamina but was wondering does it actually go down when a player plays multiple positions etc?

Stamina does have an effect on games, for sure. But it is in no relation to energy.

I am not sure if Stamina has an effect on two positions, but one would assume so.
