Another Rookie Question...

Is there no need for depth in this game?

I figured since my guys had very low stamina (I have a new team), that I'd need to provide adequate backups.... Now it looks like I just wasted some money on more players than I need.

So you can theoretically go into a game with just one player at each position and be fine? Or is there a slider or toggle I've missed somewhere to set when backups come in...

Thank you in advance...

At this point whatever lineup you set plays the whole game.

But depth is still a good thing for building for the future, as well as training injuries that come up. I'd advise that you don't go crazy adding to the roster, but that you have a few backups that you can plug in if needed.

the biggest thing is to CHECK THE AGE OF YOUR PLAYERS thats the biggest thing you need to check and if there 30 or older chances are there going to retire this season or next having depth to fill them holes really helps you out in the coming seasons so you dont drop off when your vets/old men retire

Thanks for the quick responses...

So in league 5 would you ditch the 30 year olds and just buy 20's to build up since the competition isn't as stiff, or will the half a star they give me help me in cup games and such...

I just don't want to get in another position like I am now with a 32 year old running back on my roster who sucks and wants to retire this year. Since I can't cut him I'm out the salary for the whole season (stupid rule by the way...)

That's your decision. Some have done that, and while they may struggle in Cup, they save wages and build for the future. Others have kept their older guys and been just fine.

Really, in division 5, your chances of beating the higher division, established players isn't all that high. It's there, and if you catch them sleeping or experimenting you can beat them, but most of the time you just hope to keep it close.

Appreciate the help from all...

So far this has been a great experience. I was wondering what an American game designed with a non-American programmer would look like, but his has come across pretty well so far.

Very friendly group of people here... thanks again!
