now and again i look at a player on the transfer list, 3 stars or so and his wage is 16,000+ - wow!! Whats that about (luckily i haven't bought one - and would like to thank this forum for the warnings about low energy players - steered clear of those also)

Well, a player who has greater skills, the greater the wages.

However, a player with let's say Catching 15 and Footwork 5, will cost more than a player with Catching 10 and Footwork 10
