How much does it affect how the player plays.

I mean if I have a WR that has 16 consistency and one that has 3 if all things were equel but his consistency. Would he have more drops or something else.

Consistency affects the player's overall performance. A player with 3 consistency will play anywhere from -17% to +17% of their normal abilities, whereas a player with a consistency of 16 would play between -4% and +4% of their abilities. It is very important to note that there are absolute maximums and minimums as far as performance goes. No matter what a players' consistency, he cannot play worse than a skill level of one, nor better than a skill level of 20.

Consistency can increase or decrease a player's overall performance by up to 20%.
It does not adjust the skill levels by 20%.
There's more to performance than just skill levels.

From the FAQ:

9. What is player's consistency?
If the player has 20 consistency, then the player will always play as good as he can. His match starting rating will only be affected by his fitness level and team chemistry. However, the lower the consistency value, the higher the chance the player will perform either better or worse than he is usually able to. Don't worry though, the player cannot play 2 times worse as he is able to, because his game rating can be affected by consistency for maximum 20% (gain or loss). Simply put, player with consistency 20 will always play at his full ability (given fitness and team chemistry permit it), while the performance of the player with consistency 1 will vary randomly from -20% to +20% of his basic performance rating in each game.

So by that explanation it goes by % not skill points. They can play 20% better or 20% worse with a consistency of 1. I like to keep my guys at 10 or better if possible. I feel a bit safer having someone I can depend on game in and game out.

Taken from the "Game Engine Breakthroughs" in the Rookie Forum..

Admin: You can't go to 0 so 1-20 are hard caps.

shaftdiggity: If I have a player with a low skill and a very low consistency, and he plays below average (due to consistency), can he have a negative value?

Admin: No negative value is not possible, 1 is the lowest he can go.

shaftdiggity: The same on the other end, can a player with a 20 stat that has a consistency of 1 that plays better than average have above a 20 that game for that stat?

Admin: 20 is the max.

Does this means that 2 players:
- both with tackling at 10
- A with 20 consistency and B with 1 consistency
will perform like this:
- A will always play with tackling 10 (plus affection from fitness and team chemistry)
- B will play with tackling 8 to 12 (plus affection from fitness and team chemistry)

So I can actually get a better performance from a player with low consistency, but of course also a worse?

From my understanding, that's exactly what it means..
