Player Rating Affected By Postion?

Okay ... here's one ...

Is a player's specific rating applicable to all of his possible positions (i.e. if he is a RB and can play QB or K and if worse comes to worse he can play LB) or is the rating only for his current base position? I guess an easier way to say this is, if a player spends enough time to switch his base position, does his rating stay the same or is it recalculated?

If it is re-calculated, is the player's initial base position always going to be his best position or is it possible that each or some players are "diamonds in the rough" and you have to get lucky enough to find them by changing their positions?

If it does change then it is implied that there is a "natural" position for each player.

My head hurts ... I am thinking too much.

Any help out there?

Each player has an X amount of stars in every position
the position with the most stars = Natural position
if you play the guy enough at another position, that position will exceed the old nat pos stars and will become the new natural position.
you do however keep that x amount of stars you had in that old natural position, its just not shown
the stars are always there.
if you got scout a random player from another team you will see that he has an X amount of stars in every position.

im not sure what youre asking but i guess that may clear something up

Hunh ... that scouting report is real interesting.

It sure would be handy to be able to have that same info for your own players.
