Hey guys,

I've read the Sticky about what skills to look for in each position. But what do people think are the things to look out for to separate guards, tackles and centers?

Do you look for the overall best guy in terms of agility, footwork and blocking to occupy LT and the next-best maybe to play center? And then the ones with more bias towards strength rather than agility to play guard?

Great question. Seems to me that the 2 lineman with the best of the above you mentioned should play the tackle positions to help with lees QB pressures from the DE's and LB's.

Yeah...a lot depends on how the admins coded the game engine. I have the same question about the D-line. Do you need different skills to play NT/DT versus DE?

In real life you do, but how accurate does Grid-Iron model RL?

Exactly..like if you're running to the outside, does a guard pull to help with blocking like he would in real life.. because if so then guards with speed would be of more value for those who prefer the flanks.

Ill align my Oline according to the direction i want to attack
some games i want to go for the flanks
some game down the center
some games no preference

i place my best 2 OLineman at the right position depending on the direction (ie flank would mean my best 2 are OT, center would mean by best to as Guards)

my order of importance
Str-blocking-footwork-positioning/agility

This is something that I wish the Admins would let us know. As an owner/coach of a team you should know what the players job entails (do the gaurds pull, does the d-line stunt, when and in what situaton do the linebacker blitz, etc).
There are some things that we should not have to guess or assume.IMO

i definitely agree
we shouldnt know everything but things like that should be told
i mean we dont even know for certainty what each skill does.
how do we even know what vision or positioning does? especially positioning, the other skills are pretty easy to understand. speed, str, catching are pretty easy to understand, but what is positioning does str break tackles? stuff like that

Yeah, they should really come out with a list of the attribute and at least a short description (like they have in GLB).
