What do you mean by other stats? Are you saying this...

A natural CB is playing QB. His "out of position" penalty will be greater if his passing, intelligence and vision are low. If his passing, intelligence and vision are high, the "out of position" penalty will be lower. The CB with low Pa, In and Vi will suck because those stats are low plus the "out of position" penalty. The CB with high Pa, In and Vi will be decent because those stats are higher plus the "out of position" penalty will be lower.

I'm I making any sense? Is this how it works. Also, how much does the "adequate" and "if needed" positions matter? Does "adequate" just receive less of a penalty than "if needed?"

I'm just starting out and I just wanted some clarification on how this all works. Since I'm just starting out, should I pay attention to the "natural, adequate and if needed" positions at all? Just a little? A lot?

I guess what I'm saying is...If a guy has great QB stats, but it doesn't say he can play QB should I bench him and go with a guy with decent QB stats that says he can play QB?

I think you've got the basic concept down. But since you're just starting out, it's the perfect time to place players in their positions based on their skills. If you've got a guy with intangibles such as high Intel, talent, consistency that you feel should play QB, even if it's not listed as his position, play him at QB. I think well over 99% of the community would agree with me on this one.

I could be wrong, but I think the general consensus is that when you first start out, it's best to put your players in the best position based on stats and disregard natural position, etc. I don't think there's any extra penalty if stats are low, I think what he was saying was that the penalty suffered for playing out of position is at least partially offset by what you gain by playing a player with good stats more suited for the position. Continually playing a player at his new position will eventually gain him that position as his natural position eliminating all penalties.
If I'm wrong in this, hopefully, someone will correct me. This is the plan I went with when I started a month or so ago.

changing position gets frustrating sometimes
1 OLB of mine is hasnt changed from TE after playing at OLB forever. whats even worst. He has freaking 1.5 stars at TE. playing olb for 3+ months not and still cant get more than 1.5 stars to become a LB
1 OG of mine hasnt changed from DLine

See it as a simple addition.

You add up the skills and then you add the rating. The result ist what the Admin was saying.

For example:
A player has high skills, the sum of these are let's say 80. If his Rating is 1 you get 81, if it's 5 you get 85
-> not much difference

Another player has low skills, the sum of these are 30. If his Rating is 1 you get 31, if it's 5 you get 35.
-> in this case the rating has a greater affect.

That's all.

What we now need to know is which skills are added together for certain positions.

Furthermore, because of this "equation" a QB with passing 1 isn't automatically a poor passer. Other skills can make up for his bad arm and the completion percentage would be the same. At least that is my experience and my conclusion of it.
