Penalty for repeating plays

I know it is kind of useless to bring any new idea for GI but I would like to try...

We should have some kind of penalty for plays that are repeated endlessly in a game. Lots of managers sets 100% run or pass (I know it is 90% in the tactics but we know it is a 100%) and then we see the same play repeating and repeating... It may have a way to penalize this, for example, by making those obvious plays easier to be stopped by the defense during the match, quarter after quarter.

The way it is now is kind of boring: an all-run match from both sides to find out who has the best FB...

MLB's intelligence is supposed to be able to diagnose a offense play and adjust the defense to suit. The higher the intelligence, then better the adjustment for rush or pass play. Maybe this part of the current engine just needs to be heightened/strengthened?Last edited on 2019-05-01 at 2:23

I am not sure i like this idea. This would push everything back towards 50%, so the tactical differences would be less pronounced. I mean i can imagine a very marginal factor that could actually make the game better, but this idea is not a slam dunk.

I do not see how this will push back to 50%. The idea is to make the defense more aware of the repeated play QUARTER BY QUARTER. The 1st quarter would be normally played. If one team plays at 100% run on the 3 downs over the 1st quarter, for example, the effectiveness of that play may fall a slight amount for the 2nd quarter. A greater amount for 3rd. And a even greater percentage on the last quarter. It will never be "50%" as you think but this will force the managers to be more smart when setting the tactics.

I liked the suggestion about the use of agression.

Seems like adjustments made during halftime should account for an opponent having less effectiveness when repeating plays, which would end up working both ways thus yielding a zero sum result... Perhaps that's when INT and tactical skills could help to neutralize the repeating plays situation?
