Formations, do they mean anything?

I don't see a way to scout teams, so does it matter?

Check the stats tab of the opponents games it tells you what formation a player plays. If you add in Peter's fine greasemonkey script you can even see what position players play in the game recap. And yes they matter.

Okay, but just because it says 3 guys play WR and 1 plays RB does that mean trips, or just basic single back. Which side is the trips too, or what side is the TE on?

Do I have to watch the games live to find these things?

Am I missing some data from prior matches because I just acquired the team?

But I've said nothing so far...

On the stats page on a past match, you can see what side a player played on. For example, if a WR lined up on the right, it will say WR/R.

Very good. I will know what to look for now.

Alot of these things I'm sure I will pick up in time. But I am enjoying the game and just looking for an excuse to join the forum. Thanks for the input and I'm sure I will have some more noob questions for you.
